This Sunday is Mother’s Day and to celebrate we’ve created some fun activity sheets!
Moms are extremely special in the life of a child and in our families. What better way to celebrate mom than by making her feel loved and appreciated.
The Enjoyment and Benefits of Activity Sheets
Activity sheets provide a wonderful way to spend time together. It allows time for creativity as well as self reflection, independent thinking and decision making. Our Mother’s Day activity sheets provide kids the opportunity to practice writing and use of their fine motor skills. Reading and writing with activity sheets can help enhance memory of words, reinforce vocabulary and let them be seen in a different context other than reading within books. We do love activity sheets in our family!
What’s included in our fun sheets?
Picture of My Mom
This fun sheet has a floral border with a blank canvas for your child to fill with his or her image of beautiful mom. What kind of hair does mom have? And what color are her eyes? The perfect place for your child to express creativity and show how “mom appears to me.” Afterwards, you can place it in a frame and hang it up proudly.
Mother’s Day Breakfast Menu
We created a sample Mother’s Day menu with food choices to surprise and delight mom with. Have other food choices in mind? There are lines within the menu for kids (or mom) to write in what they wish to have. We inserted dotted penmanship lines for little ones to practice their writing skills and feel like they’re really creating an actual menu for mom. It’s also a great way for kids to be involved in the subject of food so plenty of opportunities there for discussion and decision making. Our 7 year old spotted me working on the menu and asked me to print one for her! It’s super cute so be sure to print some for the kids (and dads LOL) to work on!
Mother’s Day Tags
On this sheet, you will find fun and colorful tags which can be cut out and used on top of Mother’s Day gifts, cards and even used in crafting projects. To go along with the breakfast theme Mother’s Day menu, you could cut out a thin strip of paper to create napkin ring holders using the flower tags as decorative tops. Allow the kids to decorate as they like. It’s a great opportunity for working on their fine motor skills too!
Coloring Sheet
Our coloring sheet is filled with lovely flowers just waiting to be filled with gorgeous colors to amaze mom with. Beautiful flowers for beautiful mom.
We hope you enjoy spending time together, writing, reading, coloring and creating wonderful memories.
