City Art Inspiration

What inspires you to create art?

Is it the nature around you? Is it personal stories? Maybe you like working with your hands or a certain media?

Sometimes I love to create art because it’s fun and relaxing. Other times, I love to create after seeing something beautiful and inspiring such as an artist’s work.

In New York City, there are many obvious places to see art from museums to art gallery exhibits, but have you ever stopped to notice the art around us from simply walking the streets and around neighborhoods?

In the past 2 days, I felt greatly inspired to create after seeing wonderful pieces of art by simply going around town. What I saw made me remember that art doesn’t need to entail fancy materials. It’s so amazing how imaginative artists are in making such elaborate works of art with everyday materials such as cardboard and paper.

I had to share so I hope you enjoy the pictures below. Which one is your favorite?

Waste that Barkat collected from waterways across the earth. Located in the lobby of 3 World Trade Center; 175 Greenwich street.
